Vacation Overview
This breathtaking escorted tour crosses Canada using two scenic railroads. Your vacation begins in Toronto with an orientation tour and excursion to Niagara Falls, where you take a thrilling boat ride to view the thundering falls from the river level. Back in Toronto, board the art deco cars of VIA Rail®’s The Canadian train for your 3-night rail journey through Ontario, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan. Watch the scenic countryside, lakes, and sun-dappled forests from your windows as you relax in first-class refurbished cars from the 1950s. Disembark in Jasper to savor the beauty of Jasper National Park, and enjoy a fully narrated cruise to Spirit Island. Travel through Jasper National Park on Icefields Parkway and take a thrilling Ice Explorer ride on the 1,000-foot-deep Columbia Icefield. On the way to Banff National Park, drink in the spectacular sights of Lake Louise. In Banff, visit Sulphur Mountain for a ride on the Banff gondola with panoramic views of Banff’s spectacular scenery. Next, board the Rocky Mountaineer® for a 2-day, all-daylight rail journey from the Canadian Rockies to the Pacific coast. Highlights include steep slopes and rock sheds along the Thompson River and rushing waters of Hell’s Gate in the Fraser Canyon. Your rail trip ends in Vancouver with a sightseeing tour of this sophisticated city and leisure time to explore on your own. Then board Holland America's MS Zuiderdam cruise ship for a 7-night amazing cruise through Alaska's stunning Inside Passage. Watch for soaring eagles, barking seals, and other wildlife. Marvel at glaciers and witness the amazing spectacle of thunder and spray as tremendous slabs of ice break off and “calve” into the sea. This is an excellent vacation choice for those who want to experience the best of Canada via rail and the majestic beauty of Alaska via an Inside Passage cruise.

Standard Offers and Specials provided by Globus Tours

Discount for young travelers

Share the pleasure of a Globus vacation with your children and grandchildren and take advantage of a 10-percent discount on the land-only price. For eligibility, children must be under 18 years of age on the departure date and must be accompanied by an adult. On escorted vacations we don’t accept children under eight years old because we have found that they are too young to enjoy these vacations.

Pay less for your second vacation

We charge you vacation price for your first vacation in 2008, but for every additional Globus vacation you take in the same year, you pay US$35 under list. Our vacations are designed and scheduled so you can combine them almost any way you want. It’s fun to play the add-a-vacation game yourself or talk to your travel agent.

Triple room reduction

On most Globus vacations you receive a reduction when three people travel together and share the same accommodations. Triple room reductions, when available, are listed on the itinerary pages. A word of caution: Triple rooms usually are no larger than twin rooms and the third bed, if there is one, is often a rollaway put in a twin-bedded room.

Avoid the single room supplement

We do not take reservations on a “share” basis because we have found that strangers rarely enjoy sharing a room for the duration of their vacation. Avoid the single room supplement by traveling with a friend. It’s less expensive and much more fun!
